SMS Messaging Update

We want to inform you of a significant service update. As many mobile carriers no longer support the practice of sending emails to SMS gateways (email-to-text), starting July 31, 2024 SendGrid® will block all emails to an SMS gateway, including those sent from Miracle Service.

What does this mean for your company?

Please verify your settings by navigating to Miracle Service Administration > Service Preferences > Technicians. It is crucial that the ‘Email Address’ field contains only legitimate email addresses. If you currently use email-to-text addresses (e.g., 10-digit-phone-number@txt.att.net), you must update these to standard email addresses.

How can you send text messages to your technicians?

In order to provide you with a faster and more dependable technician text messaging experience, in our latest release we have introduced a superior text messaging solution which adheres to the latest regulatory opt-in requirements of mobile carriers and is powered by the trusted Twilio® messaging service.  Available in Miracle Service version 11.2.0.0 as an optional service, you can now send automated SMS text alerts and notifications through the Event Manager module, or on-demand messages from a Task with the enhanced Tech Messaging interface. Can you still send email-to-text messages?

If you use SendGrid® which is Miracle Service’s supported email platform, you can no longer send email-to-text messages due to non-compliance with mobile carriers’ regulatory policies. As mobile carriers tighten measures to verify sender identity and prevent spam, such emails are increasingly being rejected. If you are using your own SMTP relay for sending these messages, you can continue however be aware that it poses risks like higher spam flagging, delivery delays, and formatting issues. Miracle Service’s new Technician SMS Text service offers a compliant and efficient solution without the drawbacks of email-to-text methods.
