What to Look for in a Field Service Mobile App
May 16, 2023Information Silos: How Work Order Software Breaks Them Down
June 22, 2023We are often asked “which is the best accounting software to use with Miracle Service”? While your accounting software choice needs to consider the size and scope of your business, the overwhelming majority of our customers use either QuickBooks (desktop) or its browser-based version, QuickBooks Online. These are both very good options as QuickBooks continues to be a very popular application, and Miracle Service has a very strong integration to each of them. Let’s take a look at QuickBooks Online vs QuickBooks (desktop) as they relate to Miracle Service.
While both QuickBooks desktop and QuickBooks Online have many of the same basic features, there are differences between them that you need to take into account to ensure that the one you choose will meet your business’ needs. Overall, the desktop version has a bit more feature depth, and therefore supports more of the Miracle Service features. Here are the key differences:
QuickBooks (Desktop) |
QuickBooks Online | Miracle Service Feature |
√ |
X |
Multiple warehouse functionality (*available in QuickBooks desktop Enterprise version) |
√ |
X |
Support for complex Managed Print Services (MPS ) invoicing and other services which require multiple tax codes per invoice |
√ |
X |
Tax meters or ability to use the “Contract Percentage Tax” feature for Period Billing contracts. To check if this is enabled in your Miracle Service go to Miracle Service Administration > 9. Equipment & Contracts > Contract Templates Edit > Contract Tax Info > Use Contract Percent Tax checkbox. |
If the above QuickBooks Online limitations would be an issue for your business we wouldn’t recommend going with the online version. As Intuit continues to add more functionality, we will continue to build on the Miracle Service’s QuickBooks Online integration.
Both the desktop and online versions are very strong accounting packages and each have several feature/pricing tiers to choose from. Ultimately the best one for your business will depend on your specific business size, type, and needs and your accounting professional can determine that with you.
